Welcome to Mathews Elementary School!

It is my great honor to serve as the Principal of Mathews Elementary—an incredible school community where we believe every child deserves an excellent education and the opportunity to thrive.

My journey in education began as a primary classroom teacher, where I discovered the joy and fulfillment that comes from helping young learners grow. Over time, I expanded my work as an instructional coach, supporting fellow teachers in the craft of teaching, and later as a professional development provider, equipping educators with tools and strategies to meet the diverse needs of their students. For the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in school administration—five of those years right here at Mathews Elementary.

At Mathews, we are deeply committed to providing a high-quality education for all students. With nearly half of our students learning English as a second language, we place a strong emphasis on language development and foundational skills to ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed across all subject areas.

We are equally proud of our many community partnerships, which provide critical resources and support for the whole child—not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and physically as well. We know that children learn best when they are safe, seen, and supported, and our school works daily to create that environment.

As a mother of young boys myself, I am passionate about fostering a school climate where students feel loved and empowered, where staff are supported and inspired, and where families feel connected and valued. Mathews is more than just a school—it’s a community. And I am so thankful to be part of it.
